Wool Omnibus (Wool, #1-5)

Wool Omnibus (Wool, #1-5) - Hugh Howey After reading reviews of Wool 1-5, I found them all in this one book. Each of the 5 is really short. I liked the first half a lot (5 stars) and the last half 4 stars. This book kept my attention and threw in some surprises that I wasn't expecting. It wrapped up quickly, but satisfactorily. I'm looking forward to reading the Wool 6-8 now.

The Hobbit

The Hobbit - J.R.R. Tolkien I wanted to read this in preparation for the 2nd Hobbit Movie coming out this Winter. I wasn't disappointed. Fast moving story, full of humor, suspense and good writing. One thing for sure, J.R.R. Tolkien sure had an active imagination!

Evil Star (The Gatekeepers Series #2)

Evil Star - Anthony Horowitz I really liked this one, even more than the first. This one was much less predictable and kept me reading more and more to find out what happened. Two thumbs up on this one!

Raven's Gate (The Gatekeepers Series #1)

Raven's Gate - Anthony Horowitz This was a quick read. It's a scholastic book, so it's written for a teen age audience. I really liked it, and am going out today to get the 2nd book in the series. It has enough suspense to keep you reading wondering what is going to happen next. Two thumbs up.

Timmy Failure: Mistakes Were Made

Timmy Failure: Mistakes Were Made - Stephan Pastis After readying so many intense books, this looked like a book along the lines of Wimpy Kid. And I liked Wimpy Kid. And I liked Timmy Failure too. The drawings really added to the book, and were worthy of a chuckle or too. This book was a quick read, which I really enjoyed. Nice good light reading.I wish the 2nd book was out already!

City of Bones: Mortal Instruments, Book 1

City of Bones - Cassandra Clare This book was pretty good. Not one of the best books I've read, but it still kept me reading. The movie trailer looks a little cheesy. I was hoping for more.

Let's Pretend This Never Happened (A Mostly True Memoir)

Let's Pretend This Never Happened (A Mostly True Memoir) - Very funny book. Be warned however, she has a potty mouth! But tons of laughs!

Around the World in 100 Days

Around the World in 100 Days - Gary L. Blackwood My son was reading this book and he read it so fast because he he said it was so good.I picked it up after he was done and decided to read the first chapter to see if I liked it. Two days later, I was finished.Good fun read. Easy and quick and full of adventure.I was pleasantly surprised!

Reached (Matched Trilogy Series #3)

Reached (Matched Trilogy Series #3) - This was a bigger book than the first two. It was a fast read though and I liked the way the chapters were presented, with each one being a different point of view from the main characters. Overall, the trilogy was a good read and I really liked it. I still think Matched was the strongest of the three books.

Forever Odd (Odd Thomas, No 2)

Forever Odd - Dean Koontz I've been wanting to try the Odd Thomas series and was taking a car trip and this was the first one on CD I could find at the library. It was different, but good. From what I hear, it's the "worst" of the series, so it can only get better from here.It was an enjoyable listen in the car and kept my attention.

Torrent (River of Time)

Torrent - Lisa Tawn Bergren Great ending to the series! This book was the best of out all three of them.

Cascade (River of Time)

Cascade - Lisa Tawn Bergren Good followup to the first book. Much more "action" in this one than in the first.Nice clean read good for all members of the family.Getting ready to start 3rd in series now!

Waterfall (River of Time)

Waterfall - Lisa Tawn Bergren Not a bad read. Pretty good and entertaining book. Not much on action, but I'm hoping the 2nd will be. Most of this was back story preparing for the 2nd and 3rd book. Overall, I liked it.

The Kill Order (Maze Runner Prequel)

The Kill Order - James Dashner I was expecting this book to lead right up to where the Maze Runner started, and how the people got to where they were. But it didn't.The very last sentence tries to tie it all together, but does a very poor job of that. There are new characters that have nothing to do with the Maze Runner, but that all said, it was still a good read and a good adventure in itself. It seems obvious though that this book was written to make more money for the author.

Insurgent (Divergent Series #2)

Insurgent (Divergent Series #2) - I really really liked Divergent. It moved fast and was easy to follow. I couldn't wait for Insurgent and my name was finally at the top of the waiting list at the library. Insurgent is a big book! Took me a little longer to read, and it was good, but I still liked Divergent more. With that said, Insurgent was a good read, and with the ending the way it was, I'm looking forward to the next (and final) book.

Crossed (Matched Trilogy Series #2)

Crossed (Matched Trilogy Series #2) - I didn't like this as good as Matched, but still was a good read. I didn't check good enough though, to realized that the third in the series isn't out yet! Now I have to wait!
